FIELD: mixture separation processes. SUBSTANCE: separator has inlet for feeding mixture to be subjected to separation and three outlets for discharging separated light and heavy components and particles of hard material respectively. Separator design enables radial displacement outside and inside boundary layer formed in separation chamber. For this purpose centrifugal separator has additional connection made between channel 20 in rotor and central chamber 21 in the form of orifice 24 including at least one calibrated orifice located at such distance from rotor axis that, when boundary layer in separation chamber 8 reaches preset level, weight of liquid column situated between inlet end of channel 20 and central outlet for separated oil considerably exceeds weight of liquid column situated in space from inlet end of channel 20 to additional connection. Separator has also control unit 34 intended to stop discharge of separated water through means for discharging liquid from central chamber 21 when definite volume of separated water has flown out of central chamber. Special orifice 27 made between ends of channel 20 is designed for communication of separation chamber 8 and channel 20. Its capacity is less than capacity of channel 20 and this makes it possible to prevent contamination of water with oil and to avoid steam generation in separator.
