FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to centrifugal separator and method of separation of stock into heavy and light phases. Centrifuge rotor covers closed separation space with radially outer part for heavy phase, radially inner part for light phase and central gas-filled space. Radially outer part is separated from radially inner part by interface layer. Stock is fed into separation space via feed line. To discharge heavy phase, first outlet is arranged to run from radially outer part. To discharge light phase, second outlet is arranged to run from radially inner part. Control appliances allows control aforesaid interface boundary layer to provided for desirable radial position. Transducer reads out gas pressure in aforesaid central part. Said control appliances controls counter pressure in first outlet in response to aforesaid read-off parametre that controls interface boundary radial layer.
EFFECT: ruling out deficiencies of known designs.
