FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: light guide instrument has catheter with closed rounded distal end, made of optically transparent material, connecting unit disposed in open proximal end of the catheter, optical fiber placed in protective envelope. The first end of the optical fiber has to be input end, the other end of the fiber is attached to connecting unit and is disposed inside the catheter. Connecting unit is made in form of a chuck formed by two jointed parts. The first part is made in form of coupling nut; there is a collet for clamping optical fiber within the nut. The other part of the chuck is made in form of a bushing with external thread; this part is attached to the catheter. The latter is made of fused quartz. The bushing is attached to the catheter by means of tubular gasket made of thermoshrinkable material, or in case if bushing is made of fluoroplastic, it is mounted onto the catheter with tension. Optical fiber has light-dissipating side surface from the side of the second end. Distal end of the catheter is made with curve. Proximal end of the catheter is made curve in the direction being opposite to the distal end of the catheter. EFFECT: improved comfort when exploitation. 7 cl, 3 dwg
