FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: plain hydrostatic bearing has outer race of T-shaped cross section with end seals, and inner race with flanges embracing the outer race to form a closed annular chamber containing working fluid. Interior of the closed chamber accommodates a ring seal with holes for the passage of working fluid as the working fluid fills the annular chamber, and edges directed toward the interior of the chamber. The chamber has its midportion mating with the cylindrical surface of the outer race, and edges contacting with flange ends. Flange ends of the inner race of the bearing have antifriction, such as graphite, inserts resting in continuous contact with end seals of the outer race mounted on side surfaces of its projecting cylindrical part.
