FIELD: mechanical engineering; sealing facilities; end face seals of rotating shafts. SUBSTANCE: each ring is made in form of circular bases 1 and 2 on end face surface of which, pointed to other ring, alternating concentric grooves and triangular projections are made. Corner angle of triangular projection is 30-45 degrees. Grooves are filled with antifriction material whose thermal conductivity and strength are lower than those of base material. Grooves of one of sealing rings are radially displaced relative to mating grooves of other ring through half a pitch. EFFECT: enhanced sealing of joints and reliability, increased service life of end face seal. 2 cl, 3 dwg
