FIELD: activation analysis. SUBSTANCE: method involves the steps of: using aromatic compounds from a group containing naphthalene, antrathene and imide of sulfobenzoic acid as a binder additionally treating a sample with the binder with a solvent, adding a component nonmiscible with the initial solvent and obtained solution of the binder and having a density greater than a density of the solvent solution and finally removing the binder solution in the initial solvent. EFFECT: enhanced analysis accuracy in determining the content of rare-earth elements and cobalt in a specimen due to excluding the influence of activated matrix. 1 tbl
