FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: powder of composition LiCl·2Al(OH)3·nH2O is mixed with polymeric binder solution in volatile organic solvent and produced compound is extrudated in the form of granules, that have after solvent removal from 7.5 to 10.5 mass of polymer. As polymeric binder they use polyvinyl chloride or perchlorvinyl resin, or cellulose acetobutylate, as solvent - ketones or chlorine-bearing hydrocarbons. The method allows to obtain granulated sorbent with full volumetric capacity of 6.7 7.3 mg of lithium per 1 g dry granules. Sorbent is used for extraction of lithium from chlorous brines with pH 4 7.
