FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: starting unit 5, e.g. a manual unit, is used for setting in motion of cylinder bank 2 together with shaft 3 and freewheel 4 secured at its end with respect to case 1 so accumulating kinetic energy. Either bank 2 or shaft 3 is then braked. As the result shaft 3 or bank 2 continue to rotate by inertia with respect to the braked part and engine starts. After starting bank 2 can be fixed with respect to case 1. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 4 cl, 2 dwg
