FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: piston 5, which is received in cylinder 2 to form above-piston space 3 and crankcase space 4, is provided with blowing space 15 having deflector 20 and inlet 16 and outlet 17 openings. When piston is in the vicinity of the bottom dead center at the end of expanding stroke inlet port 14 located in crankcase space 4 is in communication with inlet opening 16 of blowing space 15 and with space 15 through output opening 17, by-pass valve 18 and by-pass port 19 provided in above-piston space 3. At the beginning of discharging of exhaust gases through outlet port 11 rarefaction is created in the region of by-pass port 19 and fresh charge enters above piston space 3 through outlet port 14. As the result head 6 of piston 5 is cooled. EFFECT: improved design. 13 cl, 2 dwg
