FIELD: robotics. SUBSTANCE: linear electric drive has inductor, secondary element and control winding, control layer made in form of hollow dielectric shell filled with magnetic liquid. Control layer and control winding embracing the layer are arranged partially outside working zone of inductor. With electric drive operating, part of magnetic flux of inductor interacts with secondary element building up traction effort. Part of flux is shunted by magnetic liquid in shell and is not involved in building up traction effort. Level of magnetic liquid can be changed under action of magnetic field induced by control winding current. Such design of control layer provides complete utilization of installed power of inductor and widening of traction effort adjustment range. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 3 cl, 3 dwg
