FIELD: robotics. SUBSTANCE: device has inductor and secondary element with nonmagnetic shell filled with magnetic liquid placed in clearance between inductor and secondary element. At one of limited values of control signal controlled pressure source develops maximum pressure, and owing to delivery of magnetic liquid from reservoir, maximum liquid level is set in nonmagnetic shell and consequently, volume of liquid in working clearance overlaps completely working zone of inductor. All flux developed by motor is shunted by volume of magnetic liquid. Traction effort can be changed by changing level of magnetic liquid. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 6 dwg
