FIELD: mechanical engineering, continuous action snow cleaners and combines with mechanical transmission. SUBSTANCE: method comes to measuring actual values of machine operating parameters, comparing the results with preset values and regulation of machine speed basing on results of comparison. Working member rotation speed and draught tractive resistance are used as working parameters. Range of change in drought tractive resistance is set for final drive of machine. Range of change in tractive resistance is selected including current value of tractive resistance and coincidence of current number of machine final drive with number corresponding to selected range is determined. Working member speed is controlled if current value of tractive resistance lies within preset range. Simultaneously, falling of current value of machine draught tractive resistance into range of variations of traction forces is determined. Possibility of operation of cleaning machine at optimum duty depending on current value of drought tractive resistance makes it possible to increase economy and optimize engine load, increase service life of working member and machine as a whole.
