FIELD: mine construction. SUBSTANCE: before driving mine working, drilled from day surface are injection holes into rock mass in a row along working axis down to its floor. Hole axes are inclined relative to working axis at an angle of 40-50 deg. Then, during injection of self-hardening grout in consolidation zone, inclined walls are formed to layer strengthening of rock mass, which may be made by, e.g., hydraulic fracturing. Inclined walls are transverse relative to direction of route. Consolidated section may be driven simultaneously with consolidation of rock mass in front of face. Space between holes is calculated by known methods with consideration of natural self-supporting for given rocks precluding development of pressure arch between walls.
