FIELD: manufacture of carbon articles. SUBSTANCE: method for manufacture of carbon articles includes molding of article from silicon carbide and binder used in form of mixture of black, phenol-formaldehyde resin and ethyl alcohol with the following amounts of components, mas.%: black 30-50; phenol-formaldehyde resin 5-10; ethyl alcohol 40-60, or pyrocarbon in the amount of 5-50 g per 100 g of silicon carbide. After molding, the article is saturated with liquid silicon at 1600- 1700 C in vacuum, and then, thermochemically treated with chlorine at 900- 1100 C. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
