FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: engine has cylinders oppositely arranged on a crankcase. Pistons, which are coupled with cranks of a crankshaft through connecting rods, are received in the cylinders. The cranks are placed at 180 deg inclination to each other. When pistons synchronously move from the top dead center to the bottom dead center, fresh charge, which is compressed in the crankcase space, is alternately by-passed in the combustion chamber of each cylinder trough by-pass passages which is controlled by a slide valve bushing coupled with the crankshaft via a ball pivot. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 12 cl, 6 dwg
