FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: fixed and rotating sealing rings are in contact with each other over the flat friction surface. The friction surface of the rotating ring is provided with a ring groove coupled with a space to be sealed through passages. In addition the ring has conical spaces arranged radially. The tops of the conical spaces point inward and are in communication with the space to be sealed. The spaces are in communication with the ring groove through axial passages from the side of the base. The conical spaces are covered with balls from the side of the space to be sealed. The balls are secured to the outer surface of the rotating ring with plate springs. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 dwg
