Abstract RU 2029625 C1

FIELD: hydraulic classification of minerals. SUBSTANCE: classifier has housing 1 with cylindrical chamber 2 and conical bottom 3. Classifier housing 1 is mounted in vertical position on frame 4 by means of members 5. Cylindrical rings 12 with diameters reducing from top to bottom are axially mounted within housing 1. Rings 12 are positioned in spaced relation one with respect to the other so that separating device 14 is formed. Plates 15 are disposed radially at the outside of rings 12 within housing 1. Conical shell 16 with wear-resistant lining 17 on its inner surface is disposed in lower part of housing 1 in spaced relation with respect to bottom 3. Cylindrical shell 18 is secured to lower edge of shell 16 in spaced relation with respect to bottom 3 and pulp supply branch pipe 6. Cylinder 19 with wear-resistant lining 20 is mounted in upper part of housing 1 in axial alignment with it. Hermetically sealed casing 21 mounted above cylinder 19 is provided with air discharge branch pipe 11 disposed in upper part of casing 21. Baffle 22 made from wear-resistant material is positioned axially within cylinder 19 in spaced relation with respect to cylinder wall. Baffle 22 has annular groove 23 with protrusion disposed in groove center. Annular groove 23 is made in lower part of baffle 23. Surface of groove 23 is smoothly merging with protrusion 24. When pulp flow exits from branch pipe 6, it runs into baffle 22, which smoothly changes its path of flow for opposite path so that supplying pulp flow is embraced in annular path way. As a result suppression of pulp flow turbulence occurs. Released air bubbles are discharged from apparatus through branch pipe 11. Baffle 22 prevents pulp from getting into branch pipe 11. Plates 15 facilitate further reduction of pulp turbulence. Small particles are conveyed into discharge groove and large particles are discharged as sand through sand discharge branch pipe 7.
