FIELD: individual protection of man against hitting with firearms. SUBSTANCE: protective layer includes front and back sections assembled from plates 1, 2 and 3 partially overlapping each other over height and from plates lying beneath put into pockets 4, 5 and 6 correspondingly. Plates are produced from several layers of high-strength cloth interconnected with the help of polymer binder. Each plate is divided by means of hinge sections formed by cloth without binder and sawn with thread seam. In this case length of plate equals width of proper section. Hinge section is completely or on section not overlapped with adjacent plate covered with metal strap. EFFECT: improved protective characteristics, simplified design. 3 cl, 3 dwg
