FIELD: leather manufacturing. SUBSTANCE: method is in comminution of leather wastes in water at solid-to-liquid ratio equal to 0.05 - 0.2. The comminution is carried out by cuts at linear velocity of cuts rotation within 20 - 50 m/s. Comminuter to implement the method has casing 1 with loading pipe branch 2, pipe branch 3 for dumping generated suspension. Shaft 4 is located along casing axis and is provided with cuts. The cuts are П-shaped and have perforated side walls 5, The cuts have a slot between them with external cut fixed on the shaft.
