FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method of protecting refractory metals from high-temperature oxidation includes the application of three layers. Two of them contain silicon, the third one consists of stabilized ceramics. A layer of silicon dioxide is applied for increasing the protective properties of the coat between the layers of the silicide of the refractory metal and the oxide ceramics.
