FIELD: medical engineering; traumatology and orthopedics. SUBSTANCE: this knee joint prosthesis includes proximal portion incorporating legs and skids, which are elliptical in their base portions and have variable radius, beveled edges and spherical recess, adjacent distal portion that includes leg, support and insert which is capable of sliding along skids and provided with ridge interacting with beveled edges. Distal and proximal portions of disclosed knee joint endoprosthesis are interconnected by stud fitted into opening of insert having spherical head disposed in spherical recess composed of two hemispheres. Skids are securely mounted on leg and can be detached and fixed in desired position due to recess, protrusion and hemisphere located in skids as viewed from leg for accommodating head. Recess accommodates protrusion, which makes up one piece with leg and has opening to receive protrusion, and hemisphere for accommodating head. Protrusion fitted in recess is secured in position by screw-pin to allows double fixation of one protrusion in recess and other protrusion in opening. Such fixation of skids on leg permits making spherical head and positioning it in spherical insert. EFFECT: higher operational reliability and reduced rate of traumatism in replacement of worn-out components of endoprosthesis. 5 cl, 7 dwg
