FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: mass transfer column comprises vertical rectangular casing with tiered perforated grates spaced along the column height, and packing layers on grates. Grates have the form of inclined steps alternating in diametrically opposite directions in adjacent grates. Said adjacent steps overlap each other in plan and their rear and side edges in the direction of grate incline have upward-directed flanges for retaining the liquid. Each grate step is inclined at an acute angle to horizontal in the direction of grate inclination. The steps have arcuate cutouts with convex sides facing up and axles directed towards grate incline. The lowermost steps of the grate have the form of frames with stretched net whose mesh size is smaller than geometrical dimensions of packing. Grate steps are secured to one another and rest on two side support racks attached to casing walls. Vertical equal-size helical tightly-placed packing members of polymeric materials are resistant to aggressive medium and temperature. EFFECT: improved design. 5 dwg 5 dwg
