FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: mass exchanging column has a vertical cylindrical housing with punched grates inside. The grates are made in the form of sloped steps alternately opposing each other. There are adjacent grates overlapping each other. The back and side edges of these grates have upward flanges for retaining liquid. Each step of grate makes an acute angle with a horizontal plane following the grate's slope. The steps are provided with arch-shaped slits whose axes follow the slope of grate. The punched stepped grates are mounted on ellipsoid split rings to which supporting plates are fixed. The system of grates and meshes is fastened by bolts, nuts and screws. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 7 dwg
