FIELD: quantum electronics. SUBSTANCE: flow CO2 laser has discharge chamber with metal electrodes and optical resonator which axis is oriented transverse to direction of flow of gas mixture in discharge chamber. Each electrode is fabricated in the form of set of main plates electrically interconnected and arranged in parallel to each other and so mounted that in each pair of electrodes main plates of one electrode are placed between main plates of another electrode along direction of flow of gas mixture with definite relationship of electrodes and plane passing through lower edges of main plates of pair of electrodes by flow of gas is parallel to axis of resonator and is positioned along flow above it at certain distance. In this case electrodes are connected to high-frequency source of variable voltage with frequency exceeding 40 MHz. Main plates of electrodes can have holes placed uniformly with diameter tied up to their thickness by calculated relation. At least one additional parallel plate electrically insulated from all other plates which dimensions are chosen from condition of prevention of change burning can be installed between two adjacent main plates.
