FIELD: mining. SUBSTANCE: working member of mining machine has cutter holder with channel to receive cutter box, cutter, and circular supporting protective member. Cutter has cone-shaped working head carrying wear-resistant insert. Cutter box is installed in channel of cutter holder. Supporting protective member is made of wire and is connected with box by means of permanent joint. Part of outer side surface of cutter holder is formed by part of side surface of round cylinder. Value of outer radius of supporting protective member is not less than that of radius of cylinder forming part of outer side surface of cutter holder. Value of mean radius of supporting protective member is less than that of radius of cylinder forming part of outer side surface of cutter holder. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 dwg
