FIELD: mass-exchange equipment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to packed mass-exchange columns to provide gas(vapor)-liquid interaction when carrying out absorption and rectification processes in chemical, gas, food, and other industries. Invention aims at enhancing efficiency of gas(vapor)-liquid mass exchange owing to increasing mass-exchange interphase surface in free volume of charge and providing structure of liquid stream close to the model of ideal displacement in horizontal plane. Aim is achieved with that, in mass-exchange column including vertical cylindrical casing in which perforated shelves with central openings are stack- wise arranged, the perforations in shelves are made in the form of arc cuts with bulges upward; charge layer is present on each shelf; into central openings of shelves, central tube is mounted in; shelves are helically shaped with radial slope at acute angle to horizontal from casing wall toward central tube; lower radial edge of upper helical perforated shelf is joined through vertical barrier with upper radial edge of lower helical perforated shelf; helical shelf at its lower edge has opening into which overflow pipe is mounted in, its upper end being located above arc cuts and below upper surface of charge bed on the shelf; lower part of overflow pipe functions as drain pipe at upper radial edge of underlying helical shelf; lower level of drain pipe is distanced from underlying shelf with a value not less than 1/4 inner diameter of drain pipe; on helical shelf near its upper radial edge next to drain pipe, radial drain barrier between central tube and casing is fastened, its upper end being located above lower end of drain pipe; axes of arc cuts are oriented from upper radial edge of helical shelf to lower one and at acute angle to radius directed from periphery to center of casing; over the overflow pipe, screen with cell size less than linear size of charge elements is fastened.
