FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: this method prescribes carrying out color Doppler mapping alongside with conventional ultrasonic investigation of thyroid gland. Color Doppler mapping of thyroid gland carried out in case of autoimmune thyroiditis is marked by revelation of reduced echogeneity loci showing no symptoms of local vascularization and reduction in parenchymatous blood flow by more than 60 %. Nodal forms of thyroidal hyperplasia are marked by presence of certain loci of hypervascularization in thyroid gland parenchyma, which are detectable by method of color Doppler mapping. In case of ordinary thyroidal hyperplasia, investigation usually reveals but enlarged thyroid gland exhibiting no traces of focal hypervascularization and normal parenchymatous blood flow.
