FIELD: self-sustained compound pieces production. SUBSTANCE: blank of inert refractory material is moulded. Blanks are situated on surface of smelt in medium of gas-shaped oxidizer. Barrier materials are applied on blank surfaces, that do not contact metal, and dispersive material, inhibiting smelt oxidation process, is applied on surface of smelt, that is free from blank. It is provided, that blank is provided with floatation ring, capable of its following separation, preventing its full dipping into smelt, or provision with supporting system, located under the blank. Ring is made of barrier material. Blanks are constantly moving on smelt surface and through the smelt. Oxidizer in vapor phase is fed through outer mean and blank is made with cavity, that after blank dipping into smelt is connected with oxidizer in vapor phase.
