FIELD: production of composite ceramic materials. SUBSTANCE: composite ceramic materials are produced by oxidizing aluminium to form polycrystalline ceramic material in presence of filler. Filler is coated with material functioning as source of silicon in the course of reaction whose composition differs from original composition of filler. Silicon source processes characteristic activating properties. Molten source metal abutting filler material enters into reaction with oxidizer to form product of oxidation reaction which impregnates adjacent mass of filler material thereby producing composite ceramic material.
