FIELD: analysis of materials. SUBSTANCE: method is employed in the following manner: weight of the body to be tested and a body having known volume are determined in free air, the bodies are set in a pressure-tight tank, the tank is evacuated and filled with a working fluid up to full submerging of the bodies into fluid, and the weights of the bodies are measured in the working fluid. The density of the body to be tested is defined by relationship presented in the invention description. Before weighing in free air a powder is set in a cell which is covered with a porous cover penetrable for the working fluid. Before filling the tank with the working fluid, the cell is filled with working fluid through the porous cover. EFFECT: simplified method. 1 dwg
