FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method of continuous casting of ingot slabs comprises steps of feeding metal into a gap between a drive drum, lateral rims and an endless belt, embracing the rims; moving the drum upon changing thickness of the ingot relative to the belt with a speed, being determined according to a relation V=(30 - 80)V_in(H-h)/rα,, where V- motion speed of the drum relative to the belt, m/min; H- a thickness of the ingot on a meniscus of the metal between the drum and the belt, m; h- a thickness of the ingot after it reduction in outlet of the plant, m; V_in-ingot drawing speed, m/min; r a curvature radius of an upper face of the ingot slab, m; α- an angle of the drum sector, providing a forming of the ingot along its circle length, degree; (30-80)-an experimental coefficient, taking into account physicomechanical properties of the metal, being cast, at high temperature values, degrees.
