FIELD: foundry engineering. SUBSTANCE: liquid metal is fed through a casting nozzle under meniscus level into a gap between driving drum, rims and rim-rounding belt. Slab is formed in a gap in radial direction and reduced in solid-liquid state by means of replacing drum regarding the belt. Casting process starts with open injecting of metal into a gap. Slab thickness on a metal meniscus is equal to 2,0-7,0 h and metal feeds into a gap under meniscus level. In this case h is slab thickness after reduction, m. EFFECT: improved quality. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
