FIELD: biological engineering. SUBSTANCE: essence of this method resides in transforming sterols of either vegetative or animal origin using bacteria of Mycobacterium family in presence of hydrogen-soluble chemical derivatives of beta-cyclo-dextrin. EFFECT: disclosed method allows higher efficiency, shorter processing time, higher yield of desired product at high substrate loads, higher degree of transformation of substrates, facilitated isolation, analysis of end product and scaling of process.
