FIELD: laser devices. SUBSTANCE: device has cavity mirrors and illumination unit having cylindrical elliptic reflector which is covered with layer for reflecting light of excitation lamp. In addition illumination unit has direct excitation lamp and laser rod which are arranged in parallel. Reflecting layer which albedo is 0.5-1.0 is positioned coaxial to excitation lamp on way of beams of excitation light which intensity along perimeter of cross-section of laser rod is 0.7-0.9 of its maximal value. Said reflecting layer can be made from two strips along generatrix of excitation lamp. Relative area of each reflecting strip is 0.1 0.2 and their albedo is 0.5-1.0. Strips should be positioned in symmetry about plane of mirror symmetry of illumination unit. Middle line of each strip is arranged along perimeter of cross- section of coaxial layer at angle 62 +/-4 degrees to direction from excitation lamp axis to axis of laser beam. Reflecting layer can be placed either on side surface of excitation lamp or on surface of cooling channel of excitation lamp of illumination unit reflector. EFFECT: increased uniformity in distribution of laser illumination without decreasing efficiency. 4 cl, 1 tbl, 8 dwg
