FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has two transducers and processor and control unit. The transducers are located at some distance from one another over the artery under study. Information from transducers enters processor and control unit. The processor unit has peak detector, phase comparator, device adjusting distance between the transducers, analog comparator, analog-to-digital transducer, microcomputer, reprogrammed permanent memory device, programmed timer, display device and digital-to-analog transducer. On receiving pulse wave passage moment and pulse wave amplitude information from the transducers as well as the distance, which the wave passes, when moving from one transducer to the other one, processor unit calculates the speed of the wave movement and the arterial blood pressure and records the so obtained results on a data medium (paper, magnetic tape). The device is easily combinable with radiotelemetric system to enable, for example, to perform long distance control of the arterial blood pressure level in the organisms of transport vehicle drivers, operators and others. The pulse wave transducers are capacitive, having conducting arch-shaped springy plates having elliptic shape in side view. One of the plates is covered with a dielectric film layer. A contact unit is mounted on the external side. EFFECT: prevented emergency situations; individual control of blood pressure at home and on the working place, without using the help of medical personnel. 3 cl, 3 dwg
