FIELD: foundry engineering. SUBSTANCE: method improves slab quality, belt resistance and increases casting process output. Device has drum, endless belt, rollers and injectors positioned between rollers. Drum with its rotation drive is installed between side rims provided with rotation drives. Endless belt rounds side rims and drive rolls. Rollers support and press the belt to rims in cross direction. Axis of one of drive rolls is placed above horizontal diameter plane of drum and rims. In this case straight line connecting rims and driving rolls axes is placed at an angle β-(0,03-0,3)H to horizontal plane, where H is space between belt surface and that of a drum in its horizontal diameter plane, mm; (0,03-0,3) is empirical coefficient considering space value between belt surface and drum surface in its horizontal diametric plane, deg/mm.
