METHOD AND DEVICE FOR NON-INVASIVE MEASURING ARTERIAL BLOOD PRESSURE Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

Abstract RU 2042332 C1

FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring blood pressure by means of occlusive pressure caff and recording changed caff pressure dependence on time in compression and decompression states and corresponding pulse waves. Pulse wave correlation between coefficients of preceding cardiac cycle and each following one are determined from rheogram. The dependence of changes in maximum values of correlation coefficients and the second derivative are determined. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure are determined in this connection from the extreme boundary local maximum values on the last curve. The device implementing this method has unichannel rheograph 1 placed between occlusive caff 3 and first input of analog-to-digital transducer 6 which second input is connected with the output of unit 2 for measuring pressure in the caff, the first and the second inputs of processing and measuring unit 7, respectively. Unit 7 has caff pressure storage signal unit 8 and pulse-wave signal storage unit 9, unit 10 for determining pulse waves boundaries, unit 11 for determining pulse wave correlation coefficient differentiator 12, unit 13 for determining extremum points and unit 14 for determining blood pressure, units 9-14 being connected in series. Output of unit 14 is connected to the second input of processing and measuring unit 7 through caff pressure signal storage unit 8. The first input of unit 7 is connected to the input of pulse wave signal storage unit 9 and its output is connected to output of blood pressure unit 14. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy in measuring blood pressure. 2 cl, 1 dwg
