FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves charging solid fuel additive into blast-furnace so that it is fed to tuyere zones and burnt on tuyeres to the maximum extent. To accomplish that, solid fuel additive is charged into annular conveyance zone, which is spaced from walls for 0.125 deg. Conveyance zone extends through 0.05-0.125 deg of grate. The amount of blast-furnace coke charged into furnace is reduced for 0.5-42% and substituted by equivalent amount of solid fuel additive, with small-fraction coke, coal and other carbonaceous materials being used as solid fuel additives. EFFECT: increased efficiency, reduced consumption of blast-furnace coke, which may be replaced by solid fuel additives. 2 cl
