FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: electric heater is mounted inside space made in bottom of the piston. When the piston is in the top dead center fuel is injected from the fuel nozzle to the heating surface of the heater as a continuous liquid jet. The fuel injected as a continuous liquid jet impacts upon the heating surface and receives the heat from it for spraying and atomization inside the space simultaneously. The sprayed fuel is then ignited spontaneously. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 5 cl, 14 dwg
