FIELD: road building. SUBSTANCE: method for building road bed includes embankment erection, placing utilized tires cut into two parts along protector, joining the latter together with protector part, filling and compressing. Cut tires are preliminary secured into mats lengthwise and crosswise, placed in road base over foundation beams with cut plane directed upward. The foundation beams are placed with design step. The mats are covered, compressed, then the embankment is erected. Thickness of embankment is determined with height of right isosceles triangle, hypotenuse of which is equal to tire diameter. Slightly rotten peat or sand are used to cover the mats followed with placing geotextile layer. EFFECT: increased quality of road bed for conditions of weak ground, decreased cost, and man-hours. 4 cl, 2 dwg
