FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, aluminum electrolysis. SUBSTANCE: method for distortion of the filler in current-carrying cathode of aluminum electrolyzer comprising blooms and fillers in the form of graphite blocks, includes formation of blast holes in several rows at similar depth over the blooms in the graphite blocks, equipping them with elongated blast charges and demolition. The blast holes may be formed in the process of cathode mounting in the form of insertion pieces. Demolition may be made in pairs over adjacent blooms, and with delay, beginning from the middle of the cathode. EFFECT: high efficiency. 4 cl, 1 dwg
