FIELD: agriculture, breeding of fur-bearing animals. SUBSTANCE: method involves crossing standard minks of industrial population with mutant minks produced by selection of minks with highly active sexual behavior, beginning from the 4th generation of selection. Active sexual behavior of minks in formed by rejecting the females not falling into desirable scheme of rutting including coupling of minks on the 1st, 8th and 9th day of heat. The method raises the functional possibilities and expands the range of original fur colors in minks caused by depigmentation of various parts of guard hair, covering and down hair and thus imparting an original silvery shade to fur.
