FIELD: wind power engineering. SUBSTANCE: rotor has vertical shaft 1, vertical hollow blades 3 coupled with shaft 1 through traverses 2, and control mechanism. Each blade is provided with longitudinal slot 4 and brake shield. The brake shield is mounted inside the space of blade 3 and mounted on the roller for permitting movement in longitudinal slot 4 under the action of the centrifugal force when rotor exceeds the permissible speed of rotation. Blades 3 can be provided with several brake shields. The control mechanism is provided with synchronizer constructed as additional tie pivotally connected to each brake shield.
