FIELD: cooling water in circulating water supply systems. SUBSTANCE: mechanical draft tower has housing which is mounted horizontally and is made in form of truncated cone with inlet and outlet branch pipes in area of its lateral ends. Arranged inside housing 1 is stack of sprinkling plates 4 inclined to level. Inlet branch pipe together with fan 3 adjoins smaller base of housing 1; drip pan 6 and water distributor 9 are arranged in outlet branch pipe; water distributor 9 is made in form of nozzle heads 10 located under each sprinkling plate 4. Cooled liquid receiver is formed by part of housing 1 and segment 7 tightly fastened with it. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 1 dwg
