FIELD: purification of vehicle and industrial gases. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying palladium composition onto carrier and exposing it to thermal treatment, with palladium acetate being used as palladium composition: impregnating carrier initially with toluol by circulation method, and adding into circulating solvent palladium acetate toluol solution containing 0.19-4.37 g/l of palladium, or palladium acetate and acetic acid toluol solution with molar ratio of 1:(0.25-3.3). Dosing is carried out at rate of 0.03-3.3 g of palladium per hour and circulation of working solution at the rate of h-1. γ, l, q, d, c used as carrier is aluminum oxide and/or their mixture or aluminum oxide modified by cobalt, cerium, lanthanum or their mixture. Volume of carrier pores with radius exceeding 10 nm is 45-82% of total volume, which equals 0.45-0.63 сm3/g. Impregnated carrier is dried in inert medium and held in hydrogen-containing atmosphere at 200-400 C for 2-4 h or in air atmosphere at 380-420 C for 1-1.5h.
