FIELD: chemical and petrochemical industries, production of catalyst for purification of waste industrial gasses from sulfurous compounds, sulfur and sulfur dioxide, that are present in tailing gasses of Klaus process. SUBSTANCE: method provides for usage of binder with following mixing with pores forming additions and vanadium compounds. Aluminum hydroxide with pores forming additions is used as binder, then they add compounds of vanadium and iron with following introduction of nitric acid (mole concentration of 0.1 - 0.01). Mixture is stirred, moulded, dried and calcined under temperature of 680 - 850 C. As a version during mixing they use dry salts of vanadium and iron. As pores forming addition they use aluminum gamma-oxide in amount of 7 - 15 weight percents. As converting addition they use sawdust in amount of 25 weight percents. Stirring is exercised for 10 - 20 minuted. Vanadium hydroxide is used as vanadium compound and iron thiosulfate is used as iron salt. Metavanadate of ammonia is used as salt of vanadium and oxalate of iron is used as salt of iron. Oxalate of vanadium is used as salt of vanadium and oxalate of iron is used as salt of iron. Vanadium hydroxide is used as vanadium compound and oxalate of iron is used as salt of iron. Carboximethylcellulose, carboxiethylcellulose are used as pores forming additions.
