FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: drive for emergency brake is constructed as a powder gas generator. The braking unit is constructed as sharpened rod which can penetrate into a roadway covering under the action of pressure of powder gases. The gas generator has pressure-tight extensible telescopic housing 1, powder charge 2 mounted inside the housing, and electric igniter 3 connected with the ignition system of a vehicle. The braking unit is made up as the link of extensible telescopic housing 1 and additionally coupled with the vehicle through ties 6 secured to its body behind the center of mass of the vehicle.
