FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves treating blood with complex formation reagent prepared on the base of sodium dodecyl sulfate and determining hemoglobin concentration from the results of measuring optical density of the obtained product in the wave length range of 413 nm. The complex formation reagent has sodium dodecyl sulfate and buffer agent supporting pH value at the level of 7-8. Beside that, the reagent can contain non-ionic surfactant. To determine the calibration coefficient value corresponding to the measured value of the optical density with hemoglobin concentration in the obtained product, calibration solution is used with known hemoglobin concentration. Hemoglobin cyanide (or chlorogemin) are useable as calibration solution in the mentioned complex formation reagent. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy in measuring hemoglobin concentration. 6 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl
