FIELD: quantum electronics. SUBSTANCE: method for producing laser radiation involves excitation of pumped active gas medium by nuclear fragments emitted by fissionable materials under effect of thermal-neutron field, output of beam, and cooling of active gas medium to temperature comparable with that of surface confining laser volume; this procedure is carried out in thermal neutron field alternating with excitation using composite dish along direction of active gas medium admission and outlet; heat exchangers are installed between dish parts; optical components meant for shaping and discharging radiation are mounted on end surfaces perpendicular to surfaces used for admitting and discharging active gas medium; fissionable material layers are applied to removable substrate made of material whose thermal conductivity is higher than 0,5•10-4 m2/s and thickness is greater than 1 cm. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 3 cl, 1 dwg
