FIELD: electron beam welding equipment. SUBSTANCE: method of electron beam welding comprises steps of performing a pulse width modulation of electron beam power, being extracted in a welding zone, with a frequency of modulation, being selected in accordance with a maximum oscillation frequency of alternative component of a current in an electric circuit of an article; realizing the modulation of the power, being extracted in the welding zone, by periodical deflection of the electron beam from the welding zone to a range of a welding bath, being solidified, in such a way, that the electron beam is being unfocused at deflection over a time period of its deflected state, sustaining a diameter of a spot of heating upon unfocusing of the beam, being equal to a width of a welded seam on a surface of a metal. EFFECT: elimination of notches of the welded seam and provision of predetermined mechanical properties of welded joints due to controlling input of power of the electron beam to the metal, being welded. 1 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
